MIXED MEDIA

The images in this gallery are created using a variety of media; collage, drawing, painting, photography and computer. Most of the images exist only as prints because the various media are combined using computer programs like photoshop and corel paint. 
The image to the left is a combination of drawing, scanned images and photoshop. A pencil drawing was scanned into the computer along with a photo of the small head in the top center and some patterns taken from magazines. Then color and additional painting were added using photoshop.  The title of the image is "Scrinium". Scrinium in Latin means a case, box or a niche for keeping important papers or objects. The word shrine is derived from scrinium. In Italy there are niches in walls for shrines or to be used as scrinium. The intent of the piece at left is to convey a sense that some ancient, somewhat mystical symbols have been stored within for safe keeping.
